Compressed oxygen

I've been struggling so much lately that I actually purchased some of the compressed oxygen that elevation hikers and climbers use. I got it on Amazon and it even comes flavored. The one I bought is a grapefruit flavored though you can hardly taste it.

Anyway I'm finding that just letting myself have a quick puff of oxygen a couple times a day has greatly improved my mental clarity/fatigue and overall well being. I hate asthma. I hate not being able to breathe. This helps a little.

I just wanted to throw that out there for anybody who's suffering. It's just a short term solution and not meant to be any kind of long term therapy, but just wanted to mention it.

  1. - It's terrible you seem to be struggling with your asthma lately. Has it been since the beginning of Fall, or have you generally been struggling all year? This year seems worse than the past 5 for me. I find some years better, and some worse due to my triggers hitting harder. Were you encouraged to try compressed oxygen by a professional or colleague, or was it something you came across and decided to try? Seems like the results are positive where you are managing breathing better and cognitively it's a plus - so very glad to hear. Wishing you better breathing days ahead. Thanks for sharing your experience. Rebecca (comm advc)

    1. Hi Rebecca, I've been struggling since Spring. In retrospect I think it's because of a medication change. I just thought of it because I saw some at a gift shop in Colorado when I was on vacation in August.

      1. Hey there. This is an interesting and creative strategy, for sure. Have you ever tested your oxygen levels at home with a pulse oximeter? Of course, you could have perfect numbers and still feel terribly, but I'm curious since you seem to benefit from a little oxygen.

Medication changes can be so frustrating when they don't go as planned. Personally, I'd go back to my doctor and see if we could work something else out together. What do you think?
