Dupixent

A while back, I developed an itchy rash. My only relief was a certain steroid. I tried all treatments. Meanwhile, I also suffered from chronic asthma and was using Zolair, which was given at the doctor's office. My dermatologist suggested using Dupixent and since I had a grant for the Xolair, I was very hesitant. In the end, I did switch and all I could say was WOW! Not only did the rash clear up but the Dupixent gave me asthma relief like the Zolair did but I do the injections myself instead of driving all the way to the doctor. Initially the Vanderbilt Pharmacy handled this for me. Recently, I changed the prescribing doctor to my pulmonologist. It took some doing and lots of calls but I had a grant for it before and still do, even though I changed prescribing doctors. I still have some breathing issues but they are very minor compared to the way it was before Dupixent. I also use inhalers although my need for rescue inhalers is minimal now. My insurance pays all but $80 a month and with the grant I pay nothing.

  1. Hi. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible journey with us! It's truly heartwarming to hear how Dupixent has not only relieved your itchy rash but also provided significant asthma relief, even surpassing the effectiveness of Zolair. The convenience of self-administration must be such a relief compared to frequent visits to the doctor's office.. And it's inspiring to hear how your breathing issues have significantly improved, with minimal reliance on rescue inhalers.Your story serves as a beacon of hope for others battling similar challenges. Wishing you continued health and wellness on your journey with Dupixent and beyond. John. community moderator.
