Asthma Itch

Thanks for your article, John Bottrell! I didn't realize my persistent itchy neck was related to my asthma. Curious about what "modern medicines" you were referring to that have helped with it?

  1. You are welcome. Thank YOU for letting me know that you found my article helpful. The "modern medicine" I was referring to that helped me was Advair -- although I have since switched to Symbicort. These medicines really help to keep my lungs calm and the asthma (and asthma itch) at bay. I do hope you can get your "persistent itchy neck" resolved soon. Are you also experiencing trouble with your asthma along with your itchy chin? John. asthma.net community moderator.

    1. Hi John,
Thanks much for your response to my message! Ive been using Advair for quite some time now, with excellent results. It has for sure kept my asthma outbreaks to a minimum. A fabulous med to be sure. However, the itchy neck has been a problem for some 2-months now, & doesnt appear to be affected by Advair use. Also, I havnt seen a correlation between the itchy neck & any asthma outbreaks. Nevertheless, it's a persistent annoyance, which I experience primarily at night. Hard to say, at least in my case, whether it's asthma related or not.
      Thanks again...Elliott

      1. Thank you for the update. Glad to hear that you have found a medicine to help keep your asthma in check. I am certain that, with the help of your physician, you will get to the bottom of your neck itch. Sometimes it takes a while to figure such things out. Good luck.John. asthma.net community moderator.
