Managing my asthma

I find that taking a hay fever tablet every night helps. When I was first diagnosed with asthma I thought it was just a continuation of my spring hay fever and my respiratory nurse suggested continuing with the tablets every day throughout the year. I have found that it helps along with my inhalers and also, if I'm outdoors and in an area where crops are being harvested or grass being cut I wear a face mask.

  1. Hi there, so glad to hear that you and your respiratory nurse came up with a plan that works well for you. How long have you been using the combination of your tablets and inhalers? Wearing a face mask during specific times of years and locations can also be helpful, I'm so glad that this has worked for you. All the best, Lauren (team member)

    1. Hi Lauren, it's 3 months now since I was first diagnosed and the combination seems to be working well. I've also started wearing a face mask whenever I go out to do any gardening if it's breezy.

      1. So glad to hear that you are doing well. Thanks for checking back in! -Lauren (team member)

    2. - so glad you've found an effective treatment plan. For a long time, I suffered from horrible allergies and asthma symptoms. I wish I had a nurse to help me through. Early on I had 2 sinus surgeries and saw an allergist. Though the surgeries helped the most, my allergies remained troublesome. Much later I saw an immunoallergist who helped the most. On a schedule of a few meds, I finally found relief. Masks also help me with outdoor symptoms, especially environmental allergies, and from catching prevalent viruses. One has got to be proactive ... thoughtfully, Rebecca (team member)
