Severe persistent asthma

I have severe persistent asthma and I see an allergist. He's tried multiple medications for my asthma and nothings helped. I have had multiple ER visits, been on prednisone 11 times within a year, Azithromycin 4 times, Methylprednisolone once, Naproxyn once, and Teslon pearls twice. I have never been able to do activities. I continuously have been having asthma exacerbations. I was hospitalized at the age of 10 for 2 weeks in an oxygen tent, on oxygen and had to do my nebulizer 4 times daily because I nearly didn't make it. So I'm very lucky to be alive! I'm now 43 years old. I'm also allergic to everything environmental and 3 medications.

  1. - you've been on a long and winding journey with your asthma. It's got to be so hard for you to sit and watch everyone else be so active. Have you been to an asthma specialist? Maybe an immuno-allergist, a pulmonologist, or a lung specialist? It may be the next step in your journey. It certainly makes life so much harder to go day to day managing a health condition that is difficult to control. Hang in there. Others here are going through similar experiences. So glad to see you lean on our community and posting. Maybe you'll discover a new treatment or hear of a plan that could benefit you and your health. Here's an article that may help you find a specialist that's right for you. https://asthma.net/living/pulmonologist-or-allergy-specialist Sending thoughts of healing your way. Rebecca (team member)
