Where did my asthma go?

Since I was 36 am now 73..have been on asthma medication,nebulizer,inhalers...it's been rough. I have been asthmatic free for 3 months, no meds at all...I went off of everything and I feel fine.Is this normal for real asthma.? I am now seeing a cardiologist for a heart problem that I never knew I had, could problems with the heart (vascular system) mimic asthma?

  1. Hi It is possible that heart problems can mimic asthma, as you can see here (https://asthma.net/clinical/cardiac). However, with controlled asthma, symptoms should be minimal so you feel as though you do not have asthma -- that is normal for good asthma control. This may be a good topic to discuss with your doctor. What do you think? John. community moderator.

    1. I am about the same age and my asthma has disappeared as well. Love stopped taking medication, with my doctor's consent.

      1. Thanks for sharing your personal experience. Did you and your doctor decide to wean you off your medication? How have you felt off your medication? I hope that you are feeling well. -Lauren (team member)
