"Not having a good morning.
I've been suffering with severe asthma exacerbations. Bronchial spasms for hours on end wipe me out.
I'm due to see the Pulmonologist May16, 2022 (for the first time in person)
Praying he can help control my asthma ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ™"

  1. Hi CM398 - I am sorry to hear you are facing these challenges managing this disease. Dealing with severe exacerbations and bronchospasms that persist can be tiring, even exhausting, so I understand how you feel!
Your appointment, scheduled for this Monday (5/16), is only a few days away. However, I do have a concern based on how you described you are feeling now. How do you plan on managing this until Monday's appointment? Since your post is from about 9 hours ago, how are you feeling now?
Please do let us hear back from you - we have a genuine concern for your good health.
All the best, Leon (site moderator asthma.net)

  2. I'm glad you're getting to see your pulmonologist for the first time. I hope that it's a fruitful trip and that you come away with some answers and options for better asthma control. Try to take it easy this weekend and rest up, okay? Wishing you all the best! -Melissa, asthma.net team

  3. thank you๐Ÿ™

  4. disappointed to find out that my Pulmonology appointment will be conducted over the phone due to covid.
    I'm extremely frustrated & exhausted ๐Ÿ˜”

  5. Leon Lebowitz, RRT I've been managing with breathing treatments, muscle relaxers, and allergy medications. None of which bring me much relief.
Today my o2 Sat has been fluctuating between low to mid 80's currently at 88.
I feel bad every day, I'm so tired

  6. Hi Veronica (it looks like you may have changed your screen name from CommunityMember398 to Veronica) - you are one and the same, right?
I hear you! It is frustrating to think that one will be seeing their physician in person only to have it changed to a virtual online visit. Try not to be deterred - you may want to look at it as an opportunity to 'get started' with this physician - have your questions ready and evaluate whether this will be the right pulmonologist for you! If you are satisfied with the visit, I would suggest you ask to see him for the very next visit. This really could work out for you, either way. You will either want to continue with this doctor, or decide to look elsewhere if this doctor is not satisfactory for you.
    What do you think?

  7. Hi again, Veronica and thanks for this reply and further explanation. It sounds like the current medication regimen you are using may not be as effective as it should be. I would hope you can relate all this to the physician (tomorrow on the virtual visit), so the doctor can reassess the medications and prescribe suitable changes. Sometimes, all it takes is an adjustment to one's approach to medication to facilitate feeling better.
I will wish you 'good luck!' on tomorrow's scheduled appointment and ask that you please check back and let us know how this all turns out for you.
    Warmly, Leon (site moderator asthma.net)

  8. What a bummer! How disappointing. Did you end up having the appointment over the phone anyway? How did it go? I'm curious to hear what you talked about and if you felt like your concerns were addressed. Hang in there! -Melissa, migraine.com team
