"Im 52 and live on a farm in Illinois. I have basically had asthma since childhood but not diagnosed until I was 30. Both of my parents smoked 2 plus packs of cigarettes so I inhaled lots of secondhand smoke over my 18 years at home. My asthma has been getting much worse over the last few years and I can pinpoint it seemed to get worse after I was diagnosed with RSV 2 1/2 years ago. I have been allergy tested multiple times and I show no allergies and my eosinophil test was normal. I have had bronchitis 5 times in 7 months. My triggers seem to be environmental and living on a farm is about the worst place for me. I have a second home in Clearwater Beach, FL and I do get relief here as the air coming off the ocean is pretty pure. My local pulmonologist has me approved for dupixent but my pulmonologist at Mayo Clinic at Jacksonville wants me to hold off a bit to see if the steroids I have been on for 8 weeks can get the inflammation down without having to resort to Dupixent. I have had about 10 good days after recovering from 2 exacerbations since mid July and a tough round of bronchitis and started coughing last night with mucous running down my throat again..Does anyone have this vicious cycle going on with their immune system? I feel like at can't fight off anything at this point."
