Thyme02's Status Updates

"Sinus infection making me need my nebulizer on top of my BREO 200/25. I'll be ok."

  1. Sorry to hear that you are dealing with a sinus infection. How are you feeling today? John. community moderator.

  2. I don't feel great today as my chest is very tight, my airways are tighter too, so I have shortness of breath, labored breathing wheezing, coughing, and fatigue. I'll be alright though. Just not going to do more physical activity than I have to and will take my nebulizer soon

  3. Thank you for the update. Sorry to hear that you are not feeling very well today. It's okay to take a day off to give your body a chance to get better. I hope you are feeling better tomorrow. Wishing you all the best. John. community moderator.

  4. It's such a pain when it takes a while to recover. Hope you are trying to rest and take it easy, and are making progress. Hugs! -Melissa, asthma team

  5. Checking in with you with regards to your sinus infection. Have you found relief? Getting any better with the use of your nebulizer and Breo? It's truly important to rest and take it easy. As Melissa mentions, it can be challenging to take the time to fully recover. Hoping you've improved over the past 15 days or so. Regards, Rebecca (team member)

  6. oh yeah, I've done a lot better since then. Ugh, the status update never goes through for me. I'm doing alright for the most part, but I've noticed that I've been getting a lot more frequent sinus infections from dust at work and spending any time in the outdoor air like when they keep the door open in the heat at the dojo. It's honestly infuriating that asthma prevents me from enjoying what I love the most but it is something I have to live with and even if I have to adjust my life yet again, I'll find a way to make the most of it.

  7. Your positivity is showing - Ha! I hope you find a way to make the most of being in the outdoor air. Have you tried to post another update and it has not gone through? I'm sorry you are having difficulty with the site. I will check and see if it has been updated elsewhere. Searching I only found the 3 posted today.

Dust is a horrible offender of sinus infections. I hope there's a way to avoid it - maybe a mask and/or saline nasal spray or Neti pot to clear out your sinuses daily. I've also had to use an air clarifier/purifier close at hand to ease the load of inhaled particles. The obvious - avoidance - is seemingly impossible. It's tough when it is your livelihood and the nature of craft causing the issue.

Sending you thoughts and hoping you do find a way to make the most of your situation. Thoughtfully, Rebecca (team member)

  8. Heheheh- I don't like sugarcoating living with asthma, but I'm not THAT gloomy. 😂 Masks, purifiers, and nasal sprays help a lot, I guess I'm just particularly stuck indoors during the summer from heat, humidity, and allergens, but once I start university, I may get a different job. Asthma's been an emotional rollercoaster, but it is why I've found more creative hobbies that I enjoy. I hope you stay safe this summer too!

  9. I second the suggestion of some kind of nasal rinse or spray for your sinuses! Even in the hot weather months, I've been using Ayr spray (you can get it at the grocery store or drugstore) morning and night for allergy management. It's just saline, but it helps to keep anything nasty from lingering up there. I wonder how you'd do with it.

Hope you have a peaceful summer break before school starts! Enjoy. -Melissa, team member
