Any experiences with severe asthma?

I have been on treatments for 10 yrs to no avail. Prednisone 20 mgs daily. I have recently told nothing more to do now.

  1. Hi again, nurselpn84 and thanks for your post. While I'm hopeful you will hear from other community members in response to your inquiry, I found three articles from our own John Bottrell, that I thought you might find interesting in view of your expressed concern:
    1. https://asthma.net/living/severe-asthma-what-is-airway-remodeling/
    2. https://asthma.net/living/severe-asthma-preventing-treating-airway-remodeling/
I do hope you find them to be informative and helpful. All the best, Leon (site moderator)

    1. nurselpn84 I see your post is from June. I am wondering if you found any of the articles suggested to be helpful, or relief from a new form of therapy other than Prednisone? Personally, I would not accept a doctor telling me there is nothing more that can be done. Your body...your fight! I got great relief from Xolair injections, though I did have to take up to 6 a month at one point. My asthma now has gone into remission. Wishing you well....never give up the fight! SandraOli

      1. I have tried all the injections like nucala...n
No difference. my pulmonologist is from Upmc she was a doctor that first started making us aware of eosinophilic asthma, Dr Sally Wenzel. I am the worst case she has seen.

      2. Hi nursepln84 and thanks for your most recent post about Nucala injections. We appreciate you updating this forum on your present situation. Warm regards, Leon (site moderator)
