Is eosinophilic asthma an autoimmune disease?

I have never seen that in the literature but someone told me eosinophilic asthma is considered an autoimmune disease.

  1. Hi. Great question. It is not an autoimmune disease. Rather, it is a disease caused by an "overactive" immune response. I will attach below an article where I explore your question in more detail. Does this answer your question? John. Site Moderator. https://asthma.net/living/autoimmune-disease

    1. That is an interesting article. Enjoyed reading it. I have to say, used to catch every cold or sniffle but now that my asthma is controlled, I seem to fight them off. Have been wondering how asthma and my immune system relate.
