My amazing pulmonologist. He was just patient and empathic in the beginning, until I came to terms with my renewed asthma diagnosis.

My mom. She’s always been there for me emotionally and supported me.

My allergy/asthma specialist is pretty good, but I have been my own best advocate and have read alot to educate myself.

I was diagnosed with allergic asthma when I was a teenager. Eventually I was sent to an allergist and a pulmonologist. My pulmonologist became my “best friend” for a number of years. He guided me through my journey of finding exactly the right treatment at the right time. Since it was allergy related, I only had to be on meds at certain times of the year. After 5 years of allergy shots, I rarely had to take any medication. All this thanks to a wonderful lung doctor.

As a side note, it was due to the many contacts with Respiratory Therapists through those early years that led me to my career of respiratory therapy.
