Allergic Asthma

I have allergic asthma. I am allergic to 4 types of dust mites, tree pollen, grass, and flower pollen. Symptoms can appear quickly from someone wearing strong body sprays and perfumes, a dust cloud, etc. There are a lot of unknown triggers.

I can no longer tolerate real Christmas trees. I was walking around a sale holding a pine cone wreath back in December, and my entire hand swelled up. I’m 54, and the older I get, the worse I get with allergic asthma triggers.

The humidifier does help in the sense that I can breath easier through my nose because if I’m mouth breathing it definitely aggravates my asthma.

Hi Tammy and thank you for sharing your story here with the community. It does sound like you are very much aware of the various triggers that affect your condition. When you are able to avoid the triggers you are familiar with, how do you feel? When you do have exacerbations, how are you able to treat them? Are you under the care of a physician?
    Wishing you well,
    Leon (site moderator asthma.net)
