Asthma Turned Into EGPA
Asthma is present in both sides of my family and had developed it at the age of 5. With an onslaught of allergies (everything under the sun) in my early 30s, I had many stints of eosinophilic pneumonia from foods I did not know I had an allergy, which later turned into EGPA (eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis) or Churg Strauss or small-cell vasculitis. In my late 30s now and the quality of life has gotten better with Nucala in that the number of hospitalizations have reduced significantly. To date am blessed to have had only one intubation and one paramedic escort to the ER. My hopeful future state is to put this into remission and all this will be in the rear-view mirror.
