A Story from South Africa

I am a fairly new asthma sufferer, only being treated with maintenance medication a couple of years although suffered from allergies for a lot longer. I started a full exercise program including cardio, toning, and weight training, with some pilates thrown in when I realized I had become too sedentary in my middle age years after being very active in my first 40 years of life.

Not only is it more difficult to stay in shape in my 50s, but I have also realized that my asthma is exacerbated by exercise, which is a bit of a double whammy. I will prevail, however, and hope that my being part of a community of asthma sufferers may give me the opportunity to share my insights both learned through research or experienced firsthand. And also, will be able to learn new things on how to remain healthy and active into old age from you all.
