Hypnic Jerks and Asthma Flare Up

I have recently noticed that when my asthma is under control as it is right now. I don't get Hypnic Jerks, which is an involuntary muscle jerk when falling asleep. It is not restless leg since there is no voluntary movement. It startles me awake and then I lay there for quite some time either with recurring jerks or just expecting for one to happen.
I noticed that they happen when I am having an asthma flare-up which adds up to the nighttime asthma waking.
I manage the jerks with a low dose of Ambien during those episodes or I'd be awake all night.
Anyone else gets these Hypnic Jerks during flare-ups?
