My Journey with Asthma

Hi everyone my name is Jordan. I've been living with asthma my whole life. I just joined the community and wanted to share my story.

I noticed I had asthma when I was a young teenager and I played sports it was really hard to breath and difficult to perform adequately. I was a very active child I was homeschooled and my parents made sure to keep me social and had me join a lot of things. I was in gymnastics for 2 years and then I had voice lessons for four years.

In voice lessons I noticed I couldn't hold out long notes and the breathing exercises made it to where I almost passed out. Most of the time my asthma didn't really bother me unless my allergies were acting up or if I tried running. Towards the end of high school I finally got an inhaler. I started dancing hip hop and that went into college.

I needed an inhaler most of the time just in case I felt like I was going to pass out. My asthma has gotten better with being so active but I would, at times still need an inhaler if I pushed myself too much. Even now in day-to-day work/life sometimes I need it. I am a manager for a fast paced restaurant and sometimes it can get over worked and my asthma starts to act up. However I don't let my asthma slow me down and I still have a pretty normal life.
