Polio+ pneumonia = severe asthma

I had polio in 1963…it effected my breathing. I then had pneumonia twice during elementary school so by 12 my lungs had had enough. I’ve lived with it for 45 years. I run 23 miles a week. I’ve trained for and ran a half a dozen half marathons. I don’t let my asthma steal from me the things I love to do. Most of all I love playing with my grandkids so it is important to me to keep my lungs as healthy as they can be.

Hi Juliet and thanks for your post. As Christine did, I’d like to extend my kudos, too, for you having participated in six half-marathons. That’s quite a commendable record! Your positive attitude is admirable as well – continue enjoying your grandchildren. All the best, Leon (site moderator)
