What Is It?

I was diagnosed with asthma in 2007 after a positive bronchial challenge test. My only symptom is constant, and I mean CONSTANT, coughing and throat clearing. It drives my husband crazy. Co-workers could tell I was at work before they saw me because they recognized my cough.

Looking for answers

I have an iPhone app that records sounds of me snoring, coughing, talking, etc. I clear my throat ALL night long, even when I am in a deep sleep. Since 2011, I have had the following tests done:

  • Sleep studies
  • Sinus CT scan
  • Pulmonary function test
  • Lab work to rule out fungal infection
  • Vocal chord function test

  • Esophageal manometry
  • Esophageal fluoroscopy

Relief for asthma symptoms

I have tried so many asthma meds. None seem to help at all. Today, while driving, I had a coughing episode that made me light headed.

I just don't know where to turn. I would dearly love relief for myself and those around me. Any suggestions on finding relief for asthma symptoms? Thanks for listening.
