Allergies

After allergy tests, my doctor said I wasn't allergic to cats. Is that officially the last word, or can you not react to a test and still be allergic to some cats or some cats sometimes?

  1. Hi tui2,

Thanks for posting in our forums.
While I am happy to hear you aren't allergic to cats, I hope that the community can provide you with some feedback on cats and allergies.
Additionally, you may want to reach out to an allerigist (if you haven't already done so) to get the best feedback and support on cat allergies.

Thanks for being part of our community and please come back and let us know how you are doing.
    Best,
    Lauren (Asthma.net Team)

    1. Hi tui2 and welcome. Hopefully, as Lauren said, other community members will provide you with feedback from their personal experiences.
I thought you might find it helpful to read over this material on allergens, pets and asthma: https://asthma.net/triggers/allergens/

      1. After removing all carpeting from my home....my flare ups are reduced by 80%. My flares are now outdoor allergies.

        1. Kats, it's amazing how many allergens can be contained in a carpet, isn't it? It's remarkable how much it has helped you to have them removed. I'll never live in a house again with carpet; easier to clean, great if you have pets, and so much easier if you have allergies or worse yet, asthma.

Now if we could just do something similiar outdoors....

          Regards,
