Alternative Meds

Hi All, I just want to ask if anyone ever tried using medical cannabis as an alternative meds? I have read many articles about medical marijuana and how it can help you in terms of chronic pain, glaucoma, eating disorder/anorexia, anxiety disorders and panic attacks, inflammation, even cancer and a lot more. Like this article about asthma and marijuana from http://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/asthma/. Cbd and thc are also new to me and I don't even smoke. If this is true I cant find any solid conclusive evidence that speaks to its efficacy. Any personal experience or testimonial would be highly appreciated. Thanks

  1. Hi Demetrius - I don't have any experience with this, other than I do give CBD oil to my dog to help with his anxiety.

There's very little data around asthma and cannabis, and most of what is published is done so by the marijuana industry itself. There is a small about of data suggesting that it can work as a weak bronchodilator.

My suggestion is not to smoke it; you don't want anything to irritate your lungs more than they already are. Talk to your healthcare provider about options such as edibles or oils.

    Good luck!

    1. According to recent research scientist have found that Cannabis is working effectively against asthma. So
I hope in future scientist will find a better way to use this Cannabis for asthma treatment. Besides that, there is some alternative treatment available in the market like salt therapy through which many users are gaining improvements from their asthma condition. Infarct some peoples are following this salt therapy at home using salt air device which can be found in stores like "Saltair.fi .

      1. Hi AnneGallen and thanks for your post.
In view of your interest in "salt therapy", I thought you might find it interesting and helpful to look over this article on Himalayan Salt Therapy: https://copd.net/answers/himalayan-salt-lamps/. Although it's from our sister COPD site (COPD.net), I believe the content is also pertinent for our members with asthma.
        All the best,
