Virtual Appointments and Telehealth

Telehealth and virtual appointments are known to increase access to care and reduce costs. Have you ever used telehealth or had a virtual appointment with your doctor? Share your thoughts and experience here!

  1. I have had 3 telehealth appointments with my pulmonologist (one in between hospital admits) and 2 visits following my last hospital admit. It was a bit strange (I mean, she couldn't listen my my lungs or check pulse ox or heart rate); however, she knows me and could tell I was still struggling. So, she was able to adjust my prednisone levels as well as change my neb meds. So, telehealth was a much better option than not going for a visit! I feel like my physician was still able to address my needs, but treatment was based off observation and subjective reports only.

    1. Hi ostrowta, and thanks for joining in the conversation of this column. It sounds like you had a positive experience with your recent Telehealth visits.

This may be the wave of the future given that so much will change following this pandemic.

Glad to hear you feel you were treated successfully with this virtual-type office visit. We value your feedback here.

      All the best,
      Leon (site moderator asthma.net)
