Using a Respimat Inhaler Device

Disclaimer: Please always consult with your doctor or asthma specialist on the correct technique for using any inhaler device.

What the heck is a Respimat Soft Mist Inhaler, and HOW DOES IT WORK? Fortunately, for the first time ever, my doctor gave me an inhaler demonstration–and I’ve learned a few other helpful tidbits in my first 10 days using this device to share, such as why certain instructions exist (pffft instructions!) and, unlike other proprietary inhalers, you can use a spacer with this one.
In this video, I’ll show you how I use the Respimat and other maybe helpful-ish tricks I’ve learned.

The RESPIMAT was easy enough to use but I do not have a spacer. No coughing so I inhaled all the med. Only possible issue I had was I broke out in hives last night a few hours after using the med. I don’t know if I can blame the med or another source yet. I had pulled some blooms off a house plant and noticed my hands itched afterwards so I think it was the house plant. Guess I will know tonight.

Hi Shellzoo and thanks for your post. You’ll have to investigate further to determine if your reaction was truly to the medication, or rather the house plant. It would be important to know that for sure! Please do check back and let us know what you find out. All the best, Leon (site moderator)

I thought this video did not apply to me….until today when I ended up with this inhaler being given to me. Thanks to your video, I know I can take it correctly.
