Hi again, , and thanks for your post and question - it's a good one! I am hopeful others in the community will see your inquiry and respond by sharing their own personal experiences with you regarding the use of albuterol.
I will ask you to keep in mind that medications affect everyone differently and, folks response to medications can vary considerably too.
Although the onset of action (for inhalers and aerosolized albuterol) is typically from 5 to 30 minutes (depending on what you read), it can also vary from patient to patient.
However, the manifestation of the other symptoms you shared (chest tightness and nausea), may be from another medical issue. I recall you saying (in an earlier post), that your PFT study did not result in an asthma diagnosis. If this is the case, why (may I ask) are you taking albuterol?
I also wanted to suggest the chest tightness and nausea may be a reaction to the albuterol medication itself.
In order to have a better understanding of the symptoms you are experiencing, these are definitely concerns you may want to bring to the attention of you physician.
What do you think?
