Asthma and Sinus Infections

Does anyone else have the experience of anytime you get a cold, it morphs straight into sinusitis, requiring antibiotics (often more than 1 round), and probably steroids for the asthma exacerbation? I read somewhere that asthmatics are more prone to sinusitis. I've been to an ENT twice, and they say I don't need sinus surgery.

  1. In the most recent years, every cold turns into a horrid persistent cough and I end up on antibiotics. Since getting my asthma and allergies treated and controlled, I am catching less colds. I used to frequently get colds and sinusitis.

    1. That's the thing: I'm on medication for allergies and asthma, and I STILL have that problem! But glad to know I'm not the only one.

    2. I had to do a 10 day course of doxycycline last year after a cold due to a bad cough that would not go away. No colds since but hopeful I don’t go through that again. I just remind myself that I have a sensitive airway. I hear ya Janet!
