What could have brought on this episode?

An old lady has asthma but one day after traveling 19 hours with a hip replacement, at night she gets a bad asthma attack with pain in chest and neck which radiates down her left arm. She turns pale. Her hands are cold and sticky and her pulse is racing.

What could be her condition looking at her symptoms mentioned above?

    1. Hi Zohena - is this particular example you gave actually something that happened to you? Or to someone you know?
I see that Lauren has provided you with an excellent response as well as a link to a good article about asthma attacks in general.

There are different triggers that can be responsible for the occurrence of an asthma attack. I thought that, in view of your expressed concern, you might find it helpful to look over this article on 'asthma and triggers': https://asthma.net/triggers/. All the best, Leon (site moderator)
