Trelegy at noon. How long to wait to use albuterol rescue inhaler?

  1. Hi , and welcome! I see you are a new member here, having joined today earlier this afternoon. We are glad to see you already engaging with the community through this, your first post. It's a good question, too!
For the best answer to your concern about when you can use the rescue inhaler while being treated with Trelegy, I would suggest you take this up with your prescribing physician. The doctor (and you!), know your specific level of disease best. He/she will be able to guide you in this regard.
    What do you think?

    1. Hi Ruth! I hope you're feeling okay. Were you able to get your pharmacist or doctor to answer your question about your medications? We have a genuine concern for your wellbeing. Feel free to update us when you have a chance. -Melissa, asthma.net team

      1. Hey , I hope you’re doing well.
The thing is that you’re supposed to take it when you first start noticing symptoms, but I think that many people here don’t do that. I usually wait a bit to see if it just goes away (sometimes too much and then I regret it haha). Nobody knows better than you how you’re doing, so if you feel like you need it, just take it. My advice is: do not wait until you’re gasping for air to take it. 😂The experience will help you a lot, the more times you experience something the better you’ll be at, right? Well, with asthma it’s the same, you’ll learn how to deal with it.
        I hope this helps a bit. 🙃

        1. Hi again, imjuuls, and thanks for joining in the conversation here and lending your own level of support. I do recall you be active within the community just about a year ago. It's good to see you're re-engaging at this time.
You've made some good points, providing your own suggestion as to when to use the rescue inhaler. I am hopeful we will hear back from Ruth (), in the near future. For now, only her post (from 5 days ago), is what she's weighed in with.
          All the best,
