Covid Asthma??

Had COVID 1/4/23 and challenges breathing going up n down stairs. End of January still issues doctor thought bronchitis and gave me meds to treat it and Albuterol inhaler. End of February still breathing challenges and given Breo inhaler and Albuterol inhaler. End of June and still some challenges of feeling like lungs are constricted and wheezing sometimes. Sensitive to people vaping, smoking cigarettes, or smoking weed in public and sensitive to outdoor fireplaces. Hard to breathe when it rains and on bad air days. Only using inhalers when I must as sometimes my feet swell when using them. Could this be asthma? Recommendations on who to see for treatment?

  1. Hi , and welcome! I see you are a new member here having joined today, just about 4 hours ago. We are glad to see you already engaging with the community through this, your first post.
We appreciate you sharing your recent medical history here with the community. All the varied and multiple symptoms you've shared can be indicative of any number of medical diseases and possibly even more than one. You may be aware we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), but your concerns certainly warrant a reply.
I would suggest you see a physician and be evaluated for all you've described for us. You may want to see an internist and/or a specialist. You can have the internist guide you (if you like), or, you can look at expert physicians such as a pulmonologist, or an allergist,
    What do you think?

    1. thanks. I am going to follow up with a specialist soon.

    2. Hi again, CMd9e3b5, and thanks for acknowledging my comment to you. I think that sounds like a good idea - seeing a specialist.
Please do check back and let us know how this all turns out for you. We have a genuine interest in your good health!
      All the best,

  2. CommunityMemberd9e3b5 Wishing you the best as you traverse this difficult journey toward better health and wellness. I also had a difficult time following COVID that took about a year to clear. I was given different inhalers and treatments but eventually, it quieted down, and I am breathing easier these days. I had a diagnosis of asthma prior so my doctor was proactive and treated it cautiously. Hoping you get answers soon and your symptoms are treated satisfactorily. As Leon stated, it could be any number of conditions that are ailing you. Good luck with the specialist. Is it a pulmonologist or allergy/asthma specialist? Warmly ~ Rebecca (community moderator)
