Delayed reaction?

With current Wildfire season in full swing I was wondering if anybody has a delayed reaction from the smoke or is it immediate for everyone? Also do high levels of ozone bother you right away or is it a delayed reaction? Last time I had an asthma attack during Fire season it seemed it took a while to build up before I had the problem. What do you think? Thanks for reading.

  1. Hi - good to see you staying engaged with the community. I recall we have had many conversations over the past many months.
While I am hopeful others in the community will see your inquiry and respond by sharing their own personal experiences, I also have something to say.
You may find during this season of wildfires, it is helpful to wear a mask to protect your airway. Depending on where you are located, the smoke can be heavy and immediate or, it can be less prevalent in the atmosphere and accumulate over time. We were getting reports (here in the metropolitan New York area), that some of our weather conditions (the haze and the hazy cloud cover), was caused by the wildfires up north.
Do you think wearing a mask might be of benefit for you?

    1. yes I have the n95 masks with the valve in them so don't steam up my glasses lol hope you do well through this Wildfire season.

    2. Hi Eric, and thanks for your reply. I am hopeful you will be safe and do well with the N95 mask (with the valve). I seem to be okay in the metropolitan New York area. A cold front came in on Thursday and took care of the haze I referred to in my post above.
      Good luck!

  2. This is such a great topic, especially as I watch a ton of haze continue to roll through my area, from wildfires in Canada. I have nothing to add, but I thought you might appreciate reading some of our past articles about wildfires.
