Asthma and Drier Climate / Elevation

Hello to everyone in this forum, I'm new to Asthma.net. Need feedback on whether I should make a move now that I have retired from 37 years in the postal service. I have lived in Portland, OR { Elevation 50' } since 1986 and the winters along with the long endless rainy seasons do a don't help with tightness in my chest and asthma attacks. I'm wondering if a move to a drier climate and a higher elevation (Particularly I'm thinking Reno or Carson City, Nevada { Elevation 4802' } might improve things. my doctor and pulmonologist won't address the subject but would rather sustain me on meds and inhalers. Doctor used to recommend different climates . Anyone ever made a major move and saw improvement ?? Thanks so much for any feedback
