Increased particulate matter in air from CA wild fires

Noticed a significant increase in wheezing, and productive cough.
Standard use of inhaler was not stabilizing difficulty with cough and air movement. Added in Wixela 2x/day, increased antihistamine to allowed 2x/day, increased guiafenisen to 2x/day, and of course Albuterol as needed. It took several weeks of this routine, but finally feel I've started to reduce symptoms. Did check for COVID which was negative. I think the only thing I will add is a mask that filters air well. I think the air quality was a big impact on this episode. I know the only way for my airways to recovery is to continue this for several weeks to suppress asthma, and reduce inflammation.

  1. Hi. It sounds like you’ve been really proactive in managing your symptoms. It’s great that the Wixela, antihistamines, and guaifenesin helped after a few weeks. It's smart that you checked for COVID, too. Air quality can definitely play a big role in triggering asthma symptoms. So a good air filter mask could be a great addition. Do you have a specific one in mind? Staying consistent with your medications to reduce inflammation is key. I’s encouraging to hear you’re starting to feel some relief. Hope things continue to improve for you! John. community moderator.
