Mullein

I've been reading about this herb and dabbled with it a little bit and it did seem to help. I spoke with my doctor about mullein he had never heard of it but isn't aware of any interactions between my current asthma and other medications and this herb and there doesn't seem to be any interactions listed online so I got the all-clear to try it if I want. Most people drink 4 Cups of Tea a day. That's a bit hard for me to do so I decided to try the capsules. The brand I ordered has lots of good reviews on Amazon of people that have breathing ailments being helped by taking this for a few months. Does anybody in this group have any experience with this? In any form of the plant? Thank you.I ordered this off of Amazon

  1. Hi Eric,

Mullein Leaf is an expectorant, meaning it will help loosen mucus so it can be coughed up easier. It is also believed to help coat irritated mucus membranes. Very little data is available on this supplement, and because it is a supplement it is not regulated by the FDA.

I recommend talking with your doctor to make sure this won't interfere with any of your current medications or conditions. I'm glad you found something that seems to be helping!

    1. yes I spoke with my doctor about it and he said to try it see how it goes. I started today and so far the only problem I had is that I didn't have enough to eat this morning with just an apple with taking it. Going to try to have more of a breakfast tomorrow as I don't have any appointments so hopefully that'll help that it doesn't bother my stomach as much. Other than that it seemed to be okay today.

  2. - I've actually found some info on mullein. May help. Regards https://www.wnyurology.com/content.aspx?chunkiid=21821 Rebecca (comm advc)

    2. Thank you I will look at this site - mullein is a great tea for so many reasons, especially with breathing and respiratory issues. Rebecca

  3. Does anyone else have issues with aromatic spices, like oregano, thyme and rosemary? Even making my own spaghetti or pizza sauce, I tend to have tightness from the aromas? So I'm a little skeptical and worried to try this because of its smell. Thank you!

    1. Thank you

    2. thank you, I'd seen the little blurp when I had read it a 3rd time.

  4. Thank you Leon! I did a Google search and that one came up.
