Nasal polyps

Does anyone else have nasal polyps as well as asthma? I was using a spray of Flonase, but studies have shown that Flonase worked great for breathing, but nothing for eliminating polyps. Now using Budesonide

  1. I had polyps for about 3 years, refused to have surgery but had all sorts sprays which did not help in the slightest. My doctor then prescribed me tablets called Montelukast, after 6 months totally clear,I now take one a day just to make sure they don't return. Good luck,I really hope it gets sorted.

    1. Hi , and thanks for sharing your own personal experience managing long term nasal polyps. We also appreciate you letting us know the success you've had using this medication (Montelukast), with the community.
      Wishing you well,

  2. Glad the pills worked for you. I've been on them for years, and have had two surgeries.

    1. Thanks for sharing your experience. Do you find you are better or are allergies and polyps still an issue, even after surgery? I hope you are breathing easier these days - warm wishes - Rebecca (community moderator)

  3. Better after surgery, but they do grow back. Still an issue.

    1. Hi Markie - I am glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better following the surgical intervention. Have you had surgery for this before and, if so, did they grow back already?

  4. right now I'm on a mild steroid nasal spray and turmeric and honey, I'm trying everything!

    1. Good for you, Markie! Thanks for responding, too!
I am glad you have this treatment regimen in place. I am hopeful it will continue to be helpful for you moving forward!!
      Enjoy the holiday!

    2. It's great that you are utilizing therapeutic treatments (i.e. honey and turmeric) as well as prescribed spray to help. How has the budesonide helped? It should show results over a period of time and help you breathe so much better. How has your asthma been lately - since the cold weather has crept in? Hoping you are finding relief. Warmly - Rebecca (community moderator)
