Recovery from antibiotics steroids etc.

I have about a year since my last er visit with asthma. I have been spending quite a bit of the past year rebuilding my good bacteria with yogurt, sauerkraut, pre and probiotics,, and diet changes of course. I was wondering if anyone has a better approach? Do you recover quickly or do you take almost a year to recover? Thanks!

  1. Hi, Eric. I'm not an expert, but I feel confident that each person is different -- just as it can take shorter or longer to bounce back from an infection. It sounds like you are doing a great job in supporting your gut health and building up those good bacteria! Have you asked your doctor for suggestions? I also think it would be useful to chat with a nutritionist or dietitian about what else you might do. How are you feeling overall? Definitely talk with your doctor if you feel you aren't progressing. Always good to hear from you! Keep us posted when you can. -Melissa, asthma.net team
