Returning flare up, or my imagination?

Round 2! Finally, I had relief from violent coughing fits. From Wednesday last week to Sunday, I progressively got better. I could breath again! Still feel like a pile of doggy do, but I can breath.

Come Sunday afternoon. Fever just high enough I can't ignore, medium coughing fits, and a tiny bit of creamy yellowish pleghm.

Today, violent coughing fits, etc but very low fever. Extra ventolin on top of 4 puffs every waking 4 hrs. Still not enough!
Is my body making me sick on purpose? (Pseudo somataform) Or am I just having more bad luck?
Seeing doc tomorrow late morning... I am discouraged again. I need more time between rounds of coughing fits to mentally and physically heal.
Using hot drinks, steam from shower, MANY cough drops, xtra liquids, et al
Anyone else go through something similar? Not looking for medical help from discussions. Just need to know I am not alone. (And is this normal for asthma).

  1. I hear you. I have been myself in the situations similar, even now. In the last two and a half months I have had two sinus infections, gone through 3 big weather changes, small fire in the office, and forest fire realy close to my small town, smoke was everywhere...
Also have my remedies - a lot of tea, water, coffe. Resting as much I can (lot of work on the job and around the house), walking in the nature with lot of pines on one side and sea right by the other... Duoresp Spiromax 3x 2puffs.... Avoiding chocolate and most of inflamatory food, and eating antyinflamantory food.... I dont know what to do more, got my appointment to pulmologist in tre begening of november.

And similar like you had, few good days, and than again new round.
I really know how stressed that could be frustrating and tired of everything.

I hope you get some help from doc tomorrow. If you want to inform us later what happend.

    Stay positive, hugs.

    1. Hi again, Bleu, and thanks for this update. It's clear what a challenging time this has been for you. I am glad to hear you will be seeing your doctor tomorrow in the morning. I will wish you 'good luck!' at the appointment.
When you feel up to it, please do check back and let us know how this all turns out for you. I'm curious to hear what the doctor has to say in view of all that is happening to you during 'round 2'.
      Warm regards,

      1. I just saw the my primary doc... I am exstatic! My lungs are clear! My violent coughing is not due to my asthma flare-up coming back.
My Larynx has been so irritated and inflammed from past coughing. It is just making me cough out of habit... Weird! But Sooooo glad my asthma seems to be going okay. Asthma meds are to remain the same until I see her next week for appropriate Asthma check up (mostly making a written, definate Asthma Plan).
This recent post Covid flare has had me stumped and confused. When it would get worse, I did not know what to do.
You guys have been so helpful with your information regarding Asthma! I was at a very low, mental state when I joined this Group. Getting more pertinent information and meeting fellow Asthmatics has boosted my morale!

        1. My larynx is still irritated as I am still coughing some. But, I don't sound luke a 10 pack-a-day smoker anymore. I have an almost normal voice. My larynx wants me to cough at any little thing. It is so hard to suppress the cough. Cough suppressant syrup helps. I only want to use the codeine I was prescribed at night when I go into 3am coughing fits. I don't want to rely on it to not cough. I am not having the violent fits of coughing anymore, well maybe only twice since my doc visit.

        2. Well, some progress is better than no progress, I suppose. I totally know what you mean about the 10-pack voice. I have joked at those times that it's my alter ego, Marge. 😀 I suppose that cough drops don't give enough support, then? Hang in there! Thanks for updating me. -Melissa, asthma.net team
