Tightness in throat

Hi everyone
I have had some breathing difficulties for the past few months and my GP thinks it could be astham but I havent yet done any tests or seen a specialist.

My main concern is that I feel a tightness around my throat on the outside, if my clothing or scarf touches my throat it feels like a hand is held against my throat strangling me. I have been avoiding to wear anything that touches my throat. Is this at all as. Asthma symptom? Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Thank you all in advance

  1. Hi Mairy, and thanks for your post. Although I am hopeful others in the community will see your inquiry and respond accordingly, I too have something to contribute.
Since your internist has already weighed in with an idea of what this may be, you may want to proceed with the next step for evaluation and assessment.
The doctor should be able to provide you with a definitive diagnosis and treatment as necessary, if needed.
    What do you think?

    1. - I'm so sorry to hear you are dealing with this problem. Having your throat feel like that is scary. I definitely agree with Leon to continue being evaluated by your treating physician. There will be diagnostics and imaging done to see where the problem lies. I wish you only the best and resolution of the tightness in your throat. My question is (after seeing the GP) have you seen someone regarding your thyroid as well? Wouldnt hurt to rule out this as well. Warmly - Rebecca (comm advc)
