Hi Bettynano, and thanks for sharing your story about your son here with the community. You may be aware we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), but your concern certainly warrants a reply.
Do you feel your son is receiving a proper diagnosis and treatment? You did mention a 'viral induced wheeze' and this general diagnosis and symptom can be indicative of any number of conditions in this age group (3 years old). You also mentioned a lower respiratory tract infection (lrti) - was this diagnosed as bacterial or viral?
You may want to discuss your very real concerns further with the private physician taking care of your son. The doctor should be able to drill down and tell you exactly what is going on (a definitive diagnosis), and what to expect from treatment and a prognosis as well.
Please do check back and let us know how this works out for you (and and your son!)
Wishing you both the best,
Leon (site moderator asthma.net)
