Any advice or tips to traveling when living with eosinophilic asthma?

I have eosinophilic asthma and find it hard to walk anywhere. I've had an invitation to go to Sweden which will greatly help my career. I know several people there, and they're sympathetic to my asthma. But contemplating the trip, involving three places in Sweden, when I can barely walk anywhere without stopping every few yards. Even the thought of the airport is daunting.

I would like to go, does anyone have any tips or advice? Tell me not to go if you think it's the best advice!

  1. Hi bowbelle and thanks for your post. This is a decision that you will have to make - you may want to make it in concert with your physician. We do have some published material that focuses on traveling with asthma. You may be interested in looking them over before you speak with your physician. You can access them here: https://asthma.net/?s=travel. There is nothing like traveling and as long as you feel confident that you'll be able to manage your condition while 'on the road', that should be your main consideration. What do you think about discussing this further with your prescribing physician? Leon (site moderator)
