Undiagnosed

I just had my pulmonary function test on the 26th......have appt with pulmonologist on June 2nd for the results
I think that I might have a mild case of asthma cause the bronchodilator albuterol they gave made it easier for me to breathe hours after it was given to me(I felt this when I was at home & the next day)
Could I be an asthmatic without my Dr confirmation
I'll give update

  1. Hi. Mika84. If you did a pulmonary function test, that should clearly show if you have asthma or not. Although, a PFT is only one of many tests that can be used to diagnosis asthma. So, It's always possible. I would bet, though, if the inhaler had you feeling better, chances are it may show you have asthma, as you can see by this article (https://asthma.net/living/pulmonary-function-testing-to-diagnose-asthma). Please do, as you said, give us an update. John. Community Moderator. asthma.net

    1. I did my research on asthma & thank you

    2. I did read the article it's some difficulties in during the test

  2. Hi Mika84, and thanks for your post. I see my colleague, John, has already provided a response and, a link to a good article, regarding your situation.
To answer your question - you may indeed be an asthmatic before the doctor weighs in with a definitive diagnosis. Since you do plan on seeing the physician later this coming week (June 2), I'm hopeful the physician will be able to provide you with the results of the pulmonary function test (PFT test), and a treatment plan and medication regimen, as necessary.
Please do check back and let us know how this all works out for you.
    All the best,

    1. I will & thank you
