"I went to my allergist for a 3 month follow up. It was interesting. I had been doing okay for about 2 months with my Asthma. I caught a cold in late February and I have had a lingering cough after the cold went away. I did feel a little tight and coughed a bit yesterday and I was somewhat tight and wheezy today. At my appointment my spirometry test was a little bit lower than it was at my previous appointment. They switched me to a different controller inhaler and I now have spiriva as an add on that I will take once a day when my asthma flares. I'm hoping that I can get over the cough that has been lingering and that I can start to breathe better. My next follow up appointment is in 6 months. I am doing what I can to be in tuned with my body to find the right treatment plan to be able to consistently breathe well. "
Hi Tyson, thanks for sharing your situation. I'm glad that you were able to see your allergist when there was an opportunity to make changes due to your cough and wheezy lungs. Thanks Lauren. I do feel okay about switching medications. I am hoping that the new medications will help me in the long run to breathe better more consistently. Hopefully the lingering cough and cold will go away soon.
