"I always go through weeks where my asthma is pretty well controlled and others when it's not so good. I have been wondering if I would benefit from having a nebulizer at home for when I start to flare up. For me once I start to have some symptoms it's not easy to get it back under control. If I was able to get a breathing treatment I wonder if I could recover quicker from the flare and get back to breathing better quicker. Luckily in June I have been breathing okay but I hope it continues to be that way through the summer. "

  1. Hi Tyson, thanks for sharing your thoughts and question with the group. I can see why you may think having a nebulizer at home might be a good idea. Have you had a chance to bring this topic up with your doctor? Perhaps they can provide you with some answers and insight? I'm glad to hear that June was a good month for you. Best of luck throughout the rest of the summer. -Lauren (Team member)

  2. Hi Lauren. Thanks. I got busy talking about other things the last visit with my doctor that I didn't get to ask about possibly getting a nebulizer to use at home. I will ask at my next visit. I'm hoping the rest of the summer goes well.

  3. Good idea! Sometimes I keep a running list on my phone with questions to ask my doctor. This way, if I get side tracked, I can refer to my list. Just a thought. All the best, Lauren (Team member)

  4. I had remembered to keep a list at an appointment a year and a half ago and it was very helpful. I will have to remember to do that again.

  5. Glad to help! -Lauren (team member)

  6. Could you send a message to the doctor by phone or through the patient website if you have one? I wonder if this is something your doctor would be willing to prescribe for you without waiting for your next visit. Either way, it can't hurt to try. I like the idea of a nebulizer. -Melissa, team member

  7. Hi Melissa. I think I could send a message to my doctor. I will probably give it a try. It's not as great as talking about it in person but it's better to bring it up now as opposed to the next visit.
