Treatment for yeast and thrush?

I’m using Symbicort. I didn’t listen to the doctor who told me to rinse after. Oops. I’m not diagnosing myself, but if you get thrush, is there something you can do at home until you see the doctor?

  1. Hi thelongpointgirl, and thanks for your post. While we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), your concern certainly warrants a reply. Depending on the severity and discomfort of what you may be describing as 'thrush', you will have to decide whether you should see your doctor sooner or later. Having said that, I thought any of these articles, on this very topic, might provide you with some additional insight for your expressed concern: https://asthma.net/?s=thrush. I do hope you find them to be helpful for you. Please do check back and let us know how you're doing.

    1. Thank you Leon! I wasn’t able to find those links when I searched. I did see my dr and thankfully it’s not thrush. I am glad you have provided me with some information so I know what I could do in future if I think I have it until I can get in to see the doc! Thanks again!

      1. Hi again, thelongpointgirl and thanks so much for your response and kind words. Most importantly, I'm glad to hear that you do not have thrush as this time. It's good to hear you were able to get to your physician and receive a differential and more accurate diagnosis! Good work!

As you said, you will be able to use the published articles for future reference (if needed!), but hopefully, by taking the proper precautions (gargling and rinsing with water), you will be able to avoid a thrush condition altogether!

        Warm regards,
