Bilateral Airway Disease

Hello All,
I've had adult onset asthma for about five years. Seems to be getting worse, especially in the humid summer months. I take Breo daily and use my Albuterol inhaler as needed. My Pulmonologist ordered a CT w/o contrast. Got my results yesterday. The radiologist impression was : Bilateral Airway Disease.
Does anyone know what this is ? Is it another term for Asthma ? I go to my pulmo. next week, so I'll question him then, but just super curious about this.

  1. Hi Sunflower Mom - thanks for your post and concern over the radiologist's impression of bilateral airway disease following the CAT scan without contrast. It's difficult to determine exactly what the radiologist has in mind (for your particular case).
Rather than speculate on what this condition may mean for you, it would probably be prudent to wait for the visit with your own pulmonologist. The specialist knows you and your present diagnosis (adult onset of asthma), best.
The doctor, spending time with you, will be able to explain this to you and how it applies to your case.
I will wish you 'good luck' at your appointment. Please do check back and let us know how this all turns out for you.
    Wishing you well,
    Leon (site moderator asthma.net)
