Chest pressure/tight chest

Hello,
I have been having alot of chest pressure and a really tight chest which makes breathing very shallow. I have to keep taking deep breaths to feel like I'm getting a full breath. I was out on si gular and that took away my constant wheezing but now I still feel like this and I can't do much of anything physical even walking. I've never had a steroid shot do you think this will help these symptoms? I feel I am in a never ending flare-up because Dr's usually give me 20mg prendisone for 4 days. I don't know what medicine to take for these symptoms. Thank you

  1. Hi. Welcome to our community. Sorry that you are experiencing these symptoms. We cannot diagnose over the Internet, nor give out medical advice -- such as recommending treatment -- as you may already know. However, based on what you describe here, I would definitely recommend seeking medical consultation. A physician should be able to guide you as to the best course of action moving forward -- to help you begin feeling better. What do you think? John. community moderator.

    1. Hey Niki, did you get in touch with your doctor? It sounds like you are really going through a rough time and I want to make sure you're doing okay. Thinking about you and hoping you get the help you need -- don't be afraid to seek a second opinion if you don't feel like you're getting adequate care. -Melissa, asthma.net team

      1. Hey there - I hope you have had the chance to connect with your physician, as Melissa commented. It sounds like something that shouldn't be put on the back burner. Effective communication with your healthcare provider is crucial for managing asthma flares and maintaining good asthma control. You may need the addition of long-term control medication to help manage better. Be proactive in seeking help when needed, and work closely with your doctor to develop a comprehensive asthma management plan tailored to your specific needs.
