Hi All!! Has anyone here been tested for any allergies? That’s what really helped me to begin to know what triggers my Asthma and I found that I’m pretty much allergic to everything now so I carry my Eppy Pen with me now at all times.
Hi again, , and thanks for your post. While I'm hopeful others in the community will see your inquiry and respond by sharing their own personal experiences with asthma and allergies, I have something to say as well.
In fact, we have had many discussions here within the asthma.net community which focus on this very topic. Should you be interested in reading these discussions, here is a link (for your convenience), to several of the postings: https://asthma.net/search?s=allergies. I do hope you find the conversations to be helpful in a practical way.
All the best, Leon (site moderator asthma.net)

My pulmonologist desperately wants me tested for allergies, but my allergist refuses because every time l go in l am wheezing. She is afraid of anaphylaxis that can’t be controlled with an Epi Pen. At my pulmonologist’s office they did have a RAST drawn. It shows that l am allergic to pretty much everything in Oklahoma. I need immunotherapy. Doesn’t look like l’m going to get it.

What a lousy predicament to be in, Jana. How has your pulmonologist managed your asthma so far? Seeing that he believes it to have an allergy component, further testing would sound normal. Have you made any concrete plans with the allergist? Can you expand on why you think you won't get the immunotherapy you need? Sending strength to endure this dilemma and wishing you better health. Hi there. Dealing with allergies can be all-consuming, for sure, and I can only imagine how difficult it is to manage many triggers. While we have a wealth of allergy-focused content here as Leon has shared above, you may also want to know that we have a sister site for people with various allergies. They are friendly and would be happy to share their wisdom and experience with you. The address is www.allergies.net. I wish you all the best! -Melissa, asthma.net
