  1. Hi - and thanks for your comment - it's a good one! You may be aware that we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), but your concern certainly warrants a response.
Although asthma and COPD are both obstructive diseases, they are not the same and treatment also varies depending on the patient's diagnosis. As well, both diseases can be diagnosed in the same patient.
Your treatment will also depend on which disease (or both) are being treated. Your concern about a diminished peak flow rate (at night) is a valid one. This concern would be best directed towards your physician. The doctor will certainly be able to evaluate your peak flow trending and guide you accordingly.
Would you consider reaching out to your physician for his/her recommendation and advice?
Please do check back and let us know how this all turns out for you. We have a genuine concern for your good health!
    All the best,

    1. Reading your post, , I certainly hope you get in touch with your treating physician to express your concern over a drop in peak pressure later in the evenings sooner than later as this can be quite stressful. How are you doing today? Sending healing your way as you battle your respiratory issues. Warmly - Rebecca (community moderator)

      1. you have already gotten excellent advice here from the others. I just want to let you know that we also have a site that focuses on COPD, if you want to learn more about that condition as you navigate your new diagnosis. Many of our staff work there as well and it is an extremely friendly community, we would be happy to have you just as we're happy to have you here! If you are interested, the website is simply copd.net.

I hope you can get some support from your care team to improve your nighttime symptoms. Take good care of yourself! -Melissa, asthma team
