Dupixent injection pain

I have found the auto-injector version of Dupixent to be quite painful, but it has been quite effective so I suck it up. When it was recommended for my granddaughter’s severe eczema, I ask a pharmacist if the pediatric dose was less painful. She suggested switching to the syringe which goes deeper, past pain receptors near the skin surface. Has anyone experienced a less painful way of getting Dupixent or has experience with use in kids?

  1. I've never used the injections myself, but I wonder if your pharmacist would have some thoughts about how to make the injection less painful -- or maybe even a nurse at your doctor's office or a phlebotomist at your lab.

I also wonder if has some tricks, since she has raised kids with asthma. -Melissa, team member

  2. The recommendation from the pharmacist was to switch to syringes which go deeper that the injectors. Since I just got an order of 3 months of injectors, I’ll wait to get a new prescription.

    1. Hey there, when my son was on an injectible for his severe asthma, it was the only biologic on the market and could only be given in the doctor's office.
So we didn't have to self administer
I use a medicine that requires self injection, and sometimes it hurts and sometimes it doesn't. I don't know a trick to make it less painful
Sounds like you are in good hands with your pharmacist!
