Long road to full recovery

I had a near fatal asthma attack 2 months ago and I am still in prednisone 10 mg daily for continued intermittent mild symptoms of chest tightness relieved by my rescue inhaler, which I have needed 2-3 times a day. My pulmonologist is aware of these symptoms and has been working on changing my biologic from Nucala to tezspire. I am also on trelegy 200 and singular. I just want to get back to my baseline and move past this attack. Is this normal to have such a long recovery?

  1. oh goodness, how scary. I am so sorry you experienced that and that you are having what feels like a long recovery. I can absolutely understand wanting to get back to feeling like yourself again though. Recovery can certainly look different from person to person, so I think a specific timeline is hard to really give. But I am glad your pulmonologist is aware of what you have been experiencing, your case, your treatment plan - and hopefully he or she can sort of give you a better baseline of recovery/feeling yourself again. I truly hope that is sooner rather than later! I thought you may find it helpful to hear others experiences with recovering from asthma attacks, so wanted to share these few articles with you! https://asthma.net/living/how-i-survive-asthma-peak-week // https://asthma.net/living/recovering-after-flare -Kimberli (Team Member)
