COPD with Asthma

I have been on oxygen since 2011. I had been doing a little better but for 2 months now I have had multiple asthma attacks a day. Once in a while, I go a day without one. I have no idea what's caused all this. I have done everything I can to stay away from triggers. I have never smoked. Can anyone relate? Frustrated.

  1. Hi , and welcome! I see you are a new member here, having joined just last week. We are glad to see you already engaging with the community through this, your first post.
I am hopeful others in the community will see your inquiry and respond by sharing their own anecdotal experiences managing this disease (asthma). I have something to contribute as well.
Relating to your experience is 'easy'. This community, and those of us with asthma, understand just what you are going through and exactly how you feel, too!
My concern (for you), at this point is that you've shared you are having 'multiple asthma attacks a day'. As well, it seems you are constantly exposed to various triggers, throughout your day. It is possible your level of disease has changed recently. It may be time for you to reach out for your physician - I am sure the doctor would want to be aware of what you are going through at the present time. What do you think?

    1. Hi. I hope you're doing a bit better this week. Maybe you are due for a medication change or a dosage change. Leon has the right idea, the best plan is to reach out to your doctor and see how they can help you get a handle on these attacks.

I wanted to let you know that we have a sister site for people that are dealing with COPD. You don't have to go through it alone, feel free to stop by there as well if you're looking for additional support. The website is www.copd.net.

Please keep us posted about what you find out, okay? We're here if you need us! -Melissa, asthma.net team
