after using steroid type inhaler, mouth rinsing is required, what if no water is available

  1. Hi. So, in general, it is good practice to rinse your mouth to prevent build-up of bacteria or yeast. But sometimes, we don't have water and can't rinse, and that's okay periodically. Some people can get lucky and never have problems despite never rinsing. Can you carry a water bottle, a mouth rinse or a toothbrush with you so that you always have access to a way to care for your mouth? If not, don't panic -- just make an effort to rinse whenever you can. Hope that helps. -Melissa, team member

    1. Well you could get thrush, itchy tongue etc. Or at least that's what I've been told. But if you're carrying around a puffer i don't see why you wouldn't also carry water? I always have my water bottle with me if I'm planning on being out long. If it comes on suddenly and you're not prepared i would suggest drinking water (or something) asap. Brush your teeth/tongue as well.

      1. Hi there, thanks for adding to the conversation. I agree, most of us do carry water with us, so rinsing after using an inhaler should be possible in most cases. -Lauren (team member)
